Polsky Theater is a beautifully modern, 400-seat venue that provides the perfect intimate setting for the final FIMEL concert of June 2009. Located in the Carlsen Center of Johnson County Community College, the Polsky Theater was named April 2004 in honor of the Norman and Elaine Polsky Family Supporting Foundation within the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation.

Lawrence’s original opera house, Liberty Hall has been home to numerous musical, theatrical, and community events throughout its rich 125 year history. Originally built in 1882 as the Bowersock Opera House, Liberty Hall was renovated in the 1980’s to become one of the unique cultural centers of Lawrence. With a Beaux Arts exterior façade, Liberty Hall boasts rich acoustic qualities and interior design with a 37 foot grand vaulted ceiling, original chandeliers, and interior motifs designed by local artists and craftsmen.
